Primary care medical practices in the U.S. are modernizing, including advancing from paper records to electronic health records (EHR). The transition will be slow due to the costs of implementing computerized systems and maintenance, however gradually more and more practices are turning to digital records as the data consistently shows the benefits in terms of improved health for patients and more efficient, high-quality care, and at lower cost over time.
